Midland Curling Club Incorporated
The mission of the Midland Curling Club is to provide a social and recreational facility and to promote and develop curling for people of all ages, abilities and skill levels for Midland and the extended communities.
Our vision is to ensure the long-term viability of Midland Curling Club by encouraging participation in the sport of curling, building active and diverse partnerships with local and municipal organizations and providing an enjoyable experience for all our participants.
The Midland Curling Club is a not-for-profit organization with members from the communities of Midland, Penetanguishene and the Townships of Tiny, Tay, Georgian Bay and Springwater. We actively promote fitness for all ages and skill levels and provide instruction for our members. We encourage youth curling through our youth programs and work in conjunction with the local school boards. We provide nine different leagues for men, women, seniors, youth, and challenged individuals. We donate our facility including ice time to local school boards and the Special Olympics program. We provide a venue to exercise, socialize and mentor future generations. We also provide a community facility which is used for non-curling recreational activities, private functions and as rentals by other organizations. The organization is almost entirely operated by community volunteers.
The Midland Curling Club is governed by a board of directors which meets regularly to make decisions about the needs of the club and its membership. The different leagues and all of the members of the club are represented through this board of directors. A league representative is appointed to the board and the remaining board members are elected by the general membership. An annual general meeting is held and the membership is updated regularly by newsletters and our website.
