GRAEME JAY, PRESIDENT
Before moving to the area in 2020, I was lucky enough to experience the Midland Curling Club while participating in the local sailing club’s annual bonspiel. The architecture of the historic building, along with the Club’s authentic history, made it an easy decision to join as a full time member. I’ve belonged to clubs in Winnipeg, Port Moody BC and, more recently in Orangeville where I’ve witnessed the sport’s ability to bring communities together during the long Canadian winters. I look forward to continuing to help carry forward the legacy of curling in the region that those before us have built and that we now enjoy.

LESLIE HORN, SECRETARY
My husband and I joined the Midland Curling Club September 2019 as new curlers and Friday night Curling had us hooked in no time. Not only do we love the game, we have made great friends and also enjoy all the social activities that the club has to offer. During the Summer months you'll find us enjoying Georgian Bay, working in the gardens, or on long walks with our dog Maverick. I have enjoyed a 42 year career in nursing and I am now enjoying retirement.

KAREN LOUGHBOROUGH, OPERATIONS
I moved to Midland in September 2019, but have sailed on beautiful Georgian Bay out of Midland for the past 20+ years. With friends from the sailing club, moving here from Kitchener was not a hard decision once we retired.
I started curling in a small Northern Ontario town in 1981 and was quickly bitten by the curling bug. I have curled off and on since then, at the Elmira Curling Club, where I ran the Ladies Curling League, and then the K/W Granite Curling Club, where I curled Ladies and Friday Night Social. I worked in the Dental Industry for most of my career, as administration and Office Manager. I retired in 2015 and in 2017 my husband and I sailed our boat down to The Bahamas. An adventure of a lifetime!

DONNA MCARTHUR, MARKETING
I moved to Midland in 2020 with my husband Doug and dachshund Penny. I spent over 25 years in corporate life in various marketing/communications roles…retiring as VP of Marketing with a global cosmetics company. I started curling in 2014 as a way to meet new people…and fell in love with the skill and strategy of the game. If we are not curling, then you will find us exploring the waters of The Bay.
BRYAN WILSON, SKILLS

JANE COURTEMANCHE, ON-ICE
My introduction to curling was through funspiels with coworkers, and I have always loved that curling is not just about what happens on the ice, but equally about the camaraderie after the game. I joined the Midland Curling Club in 2019, and curl in Doubles and four person leagues. The winter flies by when you curl four times a week, and ski the other days. As a new member of the Board, I look forward to learning more about our club, and would love to hear from members about your experiences.
